Smart Migration Initiative (SMI) is a not for profit organization committed to curbing the challenges, opportunism and risk inherent in undertaking irregular migration amongst the youths particularly and the travelling public as a whole.
We are also devoted to building impactful relationship through education, coalition and advocacy to improve the migration dialogue and management.
Our Vision
To engender an economically vibrant community where government, MDA’s and nationals take migration decisions motivated by smart choices!
Aim
Smart Migration Initiative is a social service Non-governmental Organisation that provides tailor made, practical and hands-on (smart) solutions to regional and African mobility challenges.
Objectives
- SMI would provide alternative voice by pooling and attracting a network of high caliber experts in Migration management, Document experts, Demographers/Statisticians, Investigators, Prosecutors and social workers etc. aimed at reducing the ‘risk’ and ‘opportunism’ inherent in cross border mobility and migration.
- SMI would leverage on best practice models and experiences and avail the travelling public, government and its MDA’s alternative, informed and smart choices.
- Importantly, SMI would carve a niche in migration research, surveys, training, sensitization, returns and re-integration service.
- Particularly, SMI would avail its expertise to assist returnees and potentials with entrepreneurial skills to deter migration and empower the youth.

This is January 2021, we have been a bit busy, with the next phase of Smart Migration Initiative, SMI starting this year.
I have been talking to few of my international partners on supplementary income as a means to deter irregular migration amongst our youths. For the past few months I’ve been working on a platform.
